Igloo Food Equipment started in 2000 as Igloo Refrigeration importing high quality European curved glass display cases and refrigeration equipment. Employing 2 people and selling to the wholesale market out of a 15,000 square foot warehouse in Toronto, Ontario. Business did grow and in 2006 Igloo Refrigeration opened a location in Montreal, Quebec to better service the growing Quebec market.

As the business grew and customer relationships solidified our customers wanted Igloo to supply not only refrigerated products but everything for their various types of stores from smallwares to large equipment items. Igloo Food Equipment was born out of the requests and demands of the Foodservice Industry. As Igloo’s business diversified to meet our customer’s demands it became a challenge to supply and coordinate customer projects from 30,000 square feet made up of three warehouses in Toronto.

In 2008 Igloo Food Equipment moved into its current location in Toronto of 55,000 square feet located beside one of the busiest highways in Canada, thus allowing smooth transportation of goods and services both in and out of our location from the hundreds of suppliers we purchase from across Canada, the United States and around the world. We have the largest new equipment showroom in Canada at 40,000 square feet and offer our test kitchen every day for our customers to use to try new equipment or invent new recipe items for their own establishments.

We have one of the largest inventories of equipment and smallwares in the Foodservice Industry. Igloo Food Equipment now employs over 40 people providing Foodservice equipment and smallwares across Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and Africa.  

We will continue to grow to service the needs of restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores, convenience stores, hospitals, hotels, motels, schools and universities and all other types of Foodservice and Hospitality establishments and to the growing “Home Chef” retail customers who want better quality items for their home kitchens.
